Incubus released its highly-anticipated EP, Trust Fall (Side B), last Friday and treated fans to a performance of the single “Our Love” with self-shot footage On Tuesday (April 21).
Each member played (and sang) his specific part and it was all weaved together for a truly incredible video — with some fun special effects (and appearances by their adorable kids).
Frontman Brandon Boyd took to Facebook Live to chat with fans to celebrate the new video and opened up about the song, songwriting, and staying inspired during difficult times like the current COVID-19 pandemic.
"There are certain days when I wake up and there's a definite sense of collective anxiety,” he said about his current state. “Something happens to me in that realization that everyone in the world is experiencing the same, and or similar, experience. We're all having a shared experience here and it's frightening, it is deeply uncertain… it reminds me how together we are.”
Speaking on being quarantined, the frontman opened up about what he misses the most from pre-quarantined life. “There are so many things I miss so much,” he said before talking about his phone sending him memories from that day years prior.
“I have literally thousands of pictures from being on tour… [there are] all these incredible moments of us with you guys all over the world and I definitely miss concerts. I'm hoping that as soon as it's safe to get a bunch of you into places we can be sweating together and sing songs.”
He also said that he misses surfing because in California you can't go surfing at the moment because of the pandemic. “If you paddle out you'll get arrested and fined $1,000,” he said. “I've been asking myself recently, 'would it be worth 1,000 bucks and spending the afternoon in a holding cell so I can surf Malibu alone?'”
