In a recent episode of Vulture's new Instagram Live series Two Friends: A Nice Time Hanging Out With People Who Know Each Other Well, fans of How I Met Your Mother were treated to walk down memory lane when Cobie Smolders recreated one of the show's most memorable moments. While chatting with her Stumptown co-star Jake Johnson on the Instagram Live show, Smolders was convinced to belt out her character Robin Scherbatsky's—aka Robin Sparkles—classic hit song 'Let's Go to The Mall.'
When fans started popping up in the comments and asking Smolders to sing the song, Johnson gleefully egged them on. "Do you know it? I'm putting you on the spot, do you remember it?" he asked Smolders. She responded: "Yeah, I definitely know the beginning of it."
When Smolders did agree to bring Robin Sparkles back for the sake of the Instagram Live, Johnson made her promise to give her all. "I don't want an 'I'm kind of shy' six! Give us a goddamn ten! We're all living [through] COVID-19, give us a damn ten!" Smolders gave fans a taste of the song's chorus, much to Johnson's delight.
If you want to skip right to the part where Smolders and Johnson start talking about 'Let's Go to The Mall,' you'll want to jump to the nine minute mark. If you were a fan of How I Met Your Mother and/or New Girl, though, their whole conversation will be worth the watch.
