The coronavirus outbreak has heavily impacted touring in 2020, but it might stretch farther than that. During a recent interview with The Sun (via Noise 11), Radiohead's Ed O'Brien confessed that the band had been making plans to tour next year, but the pandemic may thwart them.
“What happens next with Radiohead? I don’t know,” the guitarist said. “We’ve been talking about live dates next year but that was pre-coronavirus.”
Could those dates be related to Kid A's 20th birthday in October? During another recent interview, O'Brien divulged that there had "been talks about ways of doing something."
"Everything gets thrown up in the air with coronavirus, so a lot of ideas are being mooted," he quickly added.
For now, Radiohead is keeping fans entertained in quarantine by sharing archival footage from classic concerts, and has vowed to continue uploading videos to YouTube every Thursday "until either the restrictions resulting from [sic] current situation are eased, or we run out of shows."
O'Brien has been busy promoting his debut solo album (under the moniker EOB) Earth, which came out last week. Unfortunately, the pandemic has forced him and his bandmate Thom Yorke to postpone solo tour dates for the foreseeable future.
