Like so many others, Today host Savannah Guthrie has been working from home due to the ongoing pandemic. On Thursday (May 7), Guthrie faced some technical issues as she attempted to mic up on her own. The mic fail moment was caught on camera—and so was Hota Kotb's hilarious reaction.
While recording an opening for Today, Guthrie's mic, which was clipped to the top of her blouse, slipped off and fell down her shirt. Guthrie attempted to reach in to her blouse to grab the mic before it fell too far all while Kotb and Craig Melvin watched.
Later on in the show, Guthrie explained the incident to her amused co-hosts, as well as Al Roker. "Right before we came on, my mic dropped down my shirt and then I knew I was supposed to read the intro, and so I just made a decision to reach out and get it," Guthrie recalled as Kotb cracked up. "I'm sorry, but that timing was perfect," Kotb said through her laughter. "I see a meme in your future."
