If you are flying out of McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, and forgot to bring a face mask, you will be able to buy one from one of three newly installed vending machines. McCarran is the first airport in the country to provide vending machines with personal protective equipment for travelers.
The vending machines will be stocked with both reusable and disposable masks, hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes, and gloves.
The new machines were installed as a growing number of airlines are requiring passengers to wear face masks during their flight.
"With all the changes that have been happening rapidly… it's not unthinkable that someone can show up at the airport and forget one of these items that are now almost essential for travel,'' said Christine Crews, spokeswoman for McCarran, according to USA Today.
Crews said that a three-pack of disposable masks will cost $7.50, while a reusable cloth mask will be sold for $14.50. They also have disposable KN95 masks for $8.25.
"That's as it's stocked now. There could be rotating stock based on what's available," Crews explained to CNN.
While McCarran is the first to install the vending machines, Crews expects other airports will follow suit.
