The long-running reality television show Cops has been canceled after 32 seasons. The show, which airs on Paramount Network, has been pulled from the lineup, and the network said they do not have plans to air the 33rd season, which was supposed to start on Monday (June 8).
"Cops is not on the Paramount Network, and we don't have any current or future plans for it to return," a network spokesperson said.
Cops debuted on Fox in 1989 and spent 31 years on the air. There were 25 seasons on Fox before the show moved to Spike TV, which was later rebranded as Paramount Network.
Reruns are still airing on WGN America. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network's syndication contract for the show ends at the end of June, and they are not planning to renew it.
A&E recently pulled its police reality show, Live PD, from the schedule because of the protests against police brutality that were prompted by the death of George Floyd. Live PD is the number one series on cable on Friday and Saturday nights. A&E has not announced any plans to cancel the show nor have they said when new episodes will air.
