Indiana prosecutors have filed criminal charges against two men — Sean M. Purdy and Jerry Edward Cox II — in connection with an alleged attempted lynching of a Black man at a lake on the 4th of July.

Earlier this month, Vauhxx Rush Booker posted footage on social media that showed several white men holding him on the ground against a tree as they told the person filming the incident to leave.

Purdy is facing one felony count each of criminal confinement, battery resulting in a moderate bodily injury, and intimidation, according to the Monroe County Prosecutor's Office, per BuzzFeed News. Cox is charged with one felony count each of aiding, inducing, or causing criminal confinement; battery resulting in a moderate bodily injury; and intimidation; as well as two felony counts of battery.
