Emma Roberts Was 'Shocked' By Her Unexpected Pregnancy

Emma Roberts is pregnant and expecting her first child with her boyfriend Garrett Hedlund. Us Weekly broke the happy, yet surprising news back in June. Now, the outlet is reporting that the 29-year-old actress was also surprised by her pregnancy news.

According to a source close to Roberts and Hedlund, the parents-to-be were “surprised, shocked and happy at the same time" to learn Roberts was expecting. The source added that both their families were thrilled by the news, as well.

Hedlund and Roberts began dating around March 2019, however, they've mostly kept their relationship private. During an interview with Cosmopolitan, the Scream Queens actress explained why she likes the keep her personal life out of the spotlight. "It's hard enough to be with someone by yourself, let alone with an audience," she told the magazine. "Because of Twitter and Instagram, there's a whole other element where everybody can comment on what you’re doing and no one knows the real story. That's hard."

Few other details, including how far along Roberts is, are known about Roberts pregnancy at this time. Neither Roberts or Hedlund have addressed the pregnancy publicly at this time, either.
