Drake got some fresh new bling to honor 2Pac.
The “Toosie Slide” rapper paid homage to one of the greatest emcees of all-time with some flashy jewelry last night (July 29). Drizzy took to Instagram to show off his new pieces, two pendants depicting the departed hip-hop legend as Jesus with a crown of thorns encrusted in white and yellow diamonds.
The “God’s Plan” star gave Jason of Beverly Hills a shoutout on his Instagram Stories for creating the custom pieces, which also renders 2Pac wearing his signature bandana in both blue and red. “Always wanted twin Jesus pieces thank you @jasonofbeverlyhills,” the 33-year-old captioned a clip of him showing the pieces up close.
According to TMZ, Drizzy’s diamond chains combined boast approximately 70 carats of white and yellow diamonds and more than a half kilo of gold. What’s more, each chain is estimated to be valued at $300k apiece. Per the outlet, Drake commissioned Jason to bring the 2Pac-themed Jesus pieces to life, and the undertaking took Jason and his team roughly five weeks to complete.
Drizzy’s Jesus pieces are the latest addition to the Canadian lyricist’s trove of flashy gems — necklaces being his favorite piece. Earlier this year, Champagne Papi treated himself to a custom heart-shaped necklace that cost the superstar more than $1 million to celebrate the release of his project with Future back in January.
Speaking of dropping projects, Drake recently confirmed his follow-up to 2018's Scorpion is at least "90 percent" finished after teasing the record's progress earlier this month. The update comes just weeks after he joined forces with DJ Khaled on two new tracks, "Popstar" and "Greece" — listen here!
