A Miami Gardens Checkers restaurant was shut down last week after a failed health inspection with 26 health code violations. An inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation ordered the restaurant to close after moldy water and mold-like substances were seen dripping from the ceiling air vent onto the food below.

The inspector ordered a "stop sale" on various food items such as cheese, onions, sliced tomatoes, hamburgers, chili, buns, sauces, lettuce, hotdogs, and bacon.

According to Local 10, the inspection report showed the restaurant owners were notified about the leak months before and did nothing to fix it.

There were also many other restaurants in the area ordered to temporarily close this month due to failed inspections. Among these were Green Bag, JB's Philly Cheesesteaks, and Patio Tipico, and Pretty Healthy.
