Yvonne Orji sat down with her “real-life” twin from Insecure.
The actress had fans seeing double on Tuesday (August 18) when she appeared in an interview of sorts with the woman who inspired her onscreen persona, Molly Carter, from the HBO series by Issa Rae. (Orji’s character is based on Rae’s actual best friend of the same name, for those who haven’t watched the show.)
During the hilarious 6-minute sit-down, Oriji — who is doubling up as Molly and her actual self in the clip — opens the floor with a playful note about having to switch up her hairstyle after being regularly mistaken for her doppelgänger, a notion the real Molly doesn’t seem flattered by.
It’s these sorts of awkward comparisons that set the tone for the rest of the convo, with Orji unable to control her inner fangirl and Molly throwing shade every moment she gets.
Elsewhere in the funny video, Orji presses Molly on which “f—kbois” from her past she’d rather bang, marry, and kill, and whether she or the infamous Toni Childs of Girlfriends deserves the Worst Friend Award. Despite the shady moments in between, the clip does end on a heartfelt note with Molly celebrating Orji’s recent Best Supporting Actress Emmy nomination over a glass of bubbly.
