Cleveland Browns fans will not be able to tailgate before home games this year in Cleveland's Muni Lot along the Shoreway. This comes after the city set new restrictions in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic to help prevent the spread of the virus.

No vehicles will be allowed in any city-owned parking lots on game days until two hours prior to kickoff, and there will be no tailgating permits issued by the city of Cleveland.

"Public and private gatherings of greater than ten people occurring outside of a single household or living unit, including but not limited to block/street parties and tailgating events are prohibited," said Mayor Frank Jackson.

"The pandemic is not over," Jackson said in a statement to Cleveland.com. "Whenever there is a group of people gathered together, there is a risk of spreading the virus. This includes tailgating, block and street parties, and other social gatherings. The rules are the same. Stay at home. When you are around others, wear a mask and keep social distance, and remember to wash your hands."

The NFL cut its preseason games due to the pandemic and has not yet announced any plans for allowing fans in regular season games.

The Browns are set to open their season on September 13th in Baltimore against the Ravens.
