Miranda Kerr has responded to the news that her ex Orlando Bloom has welcomed his first child with fiancé Katy Perry.

On Wednesday (August 27), Bloom took to Instagram to share the news in a joint announcement with UNICEF. "Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and @OrlandoBloom's new bundle of joy,” the post read, alongside a photo of the hands of their newborn daughter. Orlando, who is already a father to 9-year-old son, Flynn, received a response from Kerr and it seems like the Australian model is more than happy for the engaged couple. "I'm so happy for you guys Can't wait to meet her," the star wrote in the emoji-filled reply.

Despite their split, Bloom and Kerr have been able to remain amicable co-parents to Flynn. Meanwhile, the former is also a mother to sons, Hart, 2, and Myles, 10 months, with husband, Evan Spiegel.

While news of the pair's arrival is making the rounds, Bloom and Perry used the opportunity to broaden the conversation within the announcement post. "We know we're the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was," they said in a statement. "Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every eleven seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes. Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever."
