Here's something to look forward to—the second season of Amazon's gritty superhero drama The Boys is set to premiere in September. The only downside? The streaming platform will not be dropping all eight episodes at once.
While binge-watching has become the norm when it comes to streaming platforms' original content, Amazon Prime Video will opt out of the classic streamer release method when it comes to The Boys. Instead, Amazon will employ staggered drop for the popular show's sophomore season.
On Sept. 4, the first three episodes of the second season will be available for a mini binge watch. After that initial drop, however, the episodes will be released on a weekly basis. A new episode will drop every Friday, ending with the season finale on Oct. 9. Here's the exact schedule for season two of The Boys:
- Episodes one-three: Sept. 4
- Episode four: Sept. 11
- Episode five: Sept. 18
- Episode six: Sept. 25
- Episode seven: Oct. 2
- Episode eight (season finale): Oct. 9
The first season, which premiered on Amazon Prime in 2019, also consists of eight episodes. There's just enough time to catch up on the first season before season two premieres. The Boys has already been renewed for season three, as well, so we can all get excited about that, too.
