Miley Cyrus took on Billie Eilish’s new song in the Radio 1 Live Lounge.

Cyrus performed a moving cover of Eilish’s latest single, “My Future,” during Tuesday’s (September 1) BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge appearance. With a full band backing her and an intimate, candl-lit stage design, the former Disney star channeled the five-time Grammy-winning songbird’s effortless cool while belting the song’s haunting lyrics.

As Eilish previously revealed, she and her brother FINNEAS wrote “My Future” during the months of quarantine. She described the tune as “really, really personal and special” adding that, “When we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at - hopeful, excited and a craaaazy amount of self-reflection and self-growth.”

In addition to covering the 18-year-old’s new jam, Cyrus also delivered live emotionally-charged presentations of her songs “Slide Away” and “Midnight Sky.” The former quickly became a fan-favorite Cyrus breakup track released in 2019, the latter premiered on August 14 from the pop star’s upcoming seventh studio album, She Is Miley Cyrus.

The performances come days after Cyrus live-debuted “Midnight Sky” at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards while paying tribute to her iconic music video for “Wrecking Ball,” which recently had its seventh anniversary a few weeks ago.

The 27-year-old fared well following the annual awards show, having walked away with two of the three awards for which she was nominated, including Best Art Direction and Best Editing for “Mother’s Daughter.”
