#1000BlackGirlBooks' Marley Dias Gets New Netflix Show

Marley Dias, the New Jersey teen who started the #1000BlackGirlBooks campaign, has landed a Netflix series titled “Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices.”

The show consists of 12 five-minute episodes featuring Black stars reading children’s books by Black authors that highlight the Black experience.

Marley, who is only 15-years-old, serves as the host and executive producer of the series, which features guest appearances by Tiffany Haddish, Common, Lupita Nyong’o, Marsai Martin, Misty Copeland, Jacqueline Woodson, Jill Scott, Kendrick Sampson, Grace Byers, Caleb McLaughlin, and Karamo Brown.

“Bookmarks: Celebrating Black Voices” is now streaming on Netflix.
