9/11 Heroes: The Story of the Man in the Red Bandana

September 11, 2020

It's been 19 years since the September 11th attacks. We're still in awe of the stories of the people who did everything they could, including giving their lives, to save people from the World Trade Center.

Welles Crowther used to play lacrosse for Boston College and was 24-years-old when the attacks happened. He was working as an equities trader but didn't want to live his whole live sitting behind a desk, so he became a volunteer firefighter.

Crowther carried a red bandana with him throughout his entire life, and it's that red bandana that the people he saved remember. He's credited with saving 18 people on 9/11.

ESPN's Sports Center produced a fantastic piece detailing his story. Please give it a watch. It's a reminder that there are good people out there, people capable of doing extraordinary things.
