A historic hotel in Seguin, Texas, offers a truly haunted experience for those brave enough to spend the night.

For $211 a night, ghost hunters can rent a room at the Magnolia Hotel on Airbnb. Guests get two bedrooms on the second floor of the hotel, which was originally built in the 1840s. Once the sun goes down, guests are free to explore the unrestored areas of the hotel where the hauntings happen.

Now owned by Jim and Erin Ghedi, the hotel was once a frontier hotel, stagecoach station, brothel, and boarding house at various times in its existence. A basement shelter was also previously used as Seguin's jail.

The Ghedis told the Houston Chronicle that they have met more than a dozen spirits in the hotel since they started restoring it in 2013. Among those who never checked out of the hotel are a cowboy who took his own life at the hotel after riding in on a stage coach; a young boy who enjoys throwing pebbles at guests; and the man who first owned the hotel, James Campbell. Campbell's spirit is in the room when you can smell cigars, which he used to smoke, according to the current owners.

The most famous ghost at the hotel is Emma Voelcker, a 12-year-old girl killed in New Braunfels in 1874. Her killer was the one who stayed at the Magnolia, but Emma is the one who haunts it.

Of course the Ghedis can't guarantee guests will see a spirit during their stay.

"Our spirits decide who, when and if they wish to come forward. But we do guarantee spooky! If you are faint of heart then just don't enter," the Airbnb listing reads.

The Ghedis also have hotel tours, but those are on hold due to the pandemic.
