Chicago’s “Dreadhead Cowboy” is in custody, charged in connection with riding his horse down the busy Dan Ryan Expressway during evening rush hour traffic Monday (September 21).

He reportedly shut down the highway for more than seven miles.

His reason? To demonstrate that kids lives matter.

Thats what Dreadhead Cowboy Adam Hollingsworth explained when he made a brief Facebook Live video as he embarked down the expressway on Monday.

“Until kids lives matter, until we understand kids lives matter, nothing else matter,” he said, taking off onto the highway with supporters on motorcycles.

The brief video has since garnered more than 164,000 views on Facebook.

Hollingsworth is charged with reckless conduct, disobeying officers and trespassing on the expressway, according to 6 Action News. Police began receiving calls around 4:30 p.m.

Hollingsworth aimed to draw attention to funding needs for children’s programs and other needs across Chicago.

On his website, the Dreadhead Cowboy also says he wants to build a barn in the inner city for kids.
