Dallas mom Jeena Wilder knows she gets strange looks when she goes out in public with her kids, especially her adopted daughter.
Wilder is Black while her daughter Claridy is white with strawberry blond hair so Wilder is often questioned if she's really Claridy's mom. So the mom-daughter duo decided to answer people's most intrusive questions in a adorable and wholesome video shared on TikTok and Instagram.
In a video set to E-40's "Choices (Yup)," Wilder and Claridy answer “Are you the nanny?" (“Nope!”) and “Are you her mother?” (“Yup!”).
Wilder, who describes herself as Hatian-American, has been very open about her mixed-race family and the challenges they face. Wilder's husband, Drue, is white, and the couple has three biological children.
"Because I have biracial children already, I've gotten used to the fact that I'm not going to have children who look exactly like me. All my children have different skin tones, so when I view my children, the fact that don't look like me doesn't matter. They're my children," Wilder said in an interview with Popsugar last year.
Adoption has always been important to the Wilders so it was natural for them to open their home to a child. They adopted Claridy when she was two-years-old. In interviews and on her blog, Jeena Wilder emphasizes that even though her family looks different, the color of their skin doesn't stop the Wilders from being a loving family.
