Arizona Snowbowl announced plans for the 2020/2021 winter season. The announcement stated that opening day is currently scheduled for Friday, November 20, 2020.

In addition, the ski resort is set to use a new high-speed lift to replace the Agassiz ski lift broke last year.

General Manager Rob Linde stated in the announcement on the ski resort's website, "The unique challenges over the last five months (from the lift malfunction on the old Agassiz lift to a global pandemic and everything in between) have tested our resiliency, but they haven't dampened our spirits. Never has our mission to give people the freedom to ski felt more important- more poignant- than right now."

The ski resort also has announced some additional safety precautions that will be in place as well due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Snowbowl will be open this winter... and your safety will remain our number one priority," Linde stated.

Here are the safety plans the resort is anticipating:

  • Face coverings will be required.
  • There will be a limit on the access to indoor spaces.
  • Lifts will promote social distancing.
  • Access to Arizona Snowbowl may be limited during peak times, such as weekends or holidays.

Linde says that all purchases such as ski passes, rentals, and classes, will be available for purchase online in the fall.
