Megan Thee Stallion dropped her new song "Don't Stop" featuring Young Thug, along with its movie-inspired music video, and it is everything. Fans first got a taste of "Don't Stop" after Megan shared some imagery from the music video in promotional images on her Instagram leading up to its official release, but now, the visual has officially arrived.
The vibrant "Don't Stop" music video draws inspiration from Alice In Wonderland and Edward Scissorhands as the video channels different scenes and characters from each movie, and we're exploring them all below.
First up, is this pink and purple Cheshire Cat ensemble, complete with striped tail:
We take a break from Wonderland and jump to Edward Scissorhands, portrayed nicely by Young Thug:
Then we have a hybrid of both movies as Megan the Red Queen and Young Thug are in the Edward Scissorhands attic:
And then there is a tribute to Alice herself in the iconic Alice blue, with some Mad Hatter backup dancers:
"Don't Stop" is the latest collaboration for Megan this year, as the rapper has teamed up with a number of artists including Normani ("Diamonds"), Tyga ("Freak"), and Beyoncé ("Savage" Remix). Megan has been working on her new album throughout the pandemic, and during an interview with Jimmy Fallon back in April, she explained of working on the new material, "That's the best thing about quarantine. I would have been working on it anyway, but what else am I going to be doing right now. I’ve just been writing and we set up a little studio in here."
Megan Thee Stallion is set to perform on Saturday Night Live this weekend (on October 3rd).
Meanwhile, Young Thug has kept quite busy in 2020 as he's collaborated with DaBaby, Machine Gun Kelly, and Migos, among others including Chris Brown on their Slime & B mixtape. The rapper had also been working on a new album called Punk that he announced last summer.
