Adam Sandler's newest film, Hubie Halloween, premiered on Netflix on Oct. 7. The movie, of course, features the usual Sandler humor and antics, but there's also a moving tribute to the late Cameron Boyce tucked in. Boyce passed away in 2019 at just 20-years-old after suffering a fatal seizure in his sleep. The Hubie Halloween dedication, which includes a picture of Boyce reads, "Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day."

In a recent interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Sandler opened up about why he decided to dedicated his latest film to Boyce. "He was supposed to come to do the movie maybe two days after [he died]. He was getting on a plane to come shoot our movie," Sandler said. "That was devastating news for his family and for all of us. He was always great to my family. Cameron came to my daughter's bat mitzvah three months before he passed away and every one of my daughter's friends was coming up to him, and he took the time and talked to everybody, and signed autographs and took pictures with them. He was just a great kid, and everybody misses him."

Sandler and Boyce first met a decade ago when they co-starred in another Sandler joint, Grown Ups. Boyce played Sandler's on-screen son in Grown Ups as well as its sequel Grown Ups 2. When news of Boyce's death broke in July 2019, Sandler posted a heartbreaking message about his young co-star. "Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around," Sandler wrote. "Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences."

For those interested in watching Hubie Halloween, here's the film's official synopsis: It's October 31st in Salem, Massachusetts, and a town's eccentric, devoted community volunteer and the good-natured object of his fellow citizen's derision and meanest pranks, finds himself in the midst of a real investigation, for a real murderer. The tribute to Boyce is featured in the credits.
