It's no secret that Tom DeLonge loves all things sci-fi, aliens, and UFOs and now he's taking his obsession one step further.
On Wednesday (October 7), Deadline broke the news that the Angels & Airwaves singer will be making his directorial debut with the film Monsters Of California.
According to the news outlet, his full-length feature, “is a coming of age adventure with a science fiction twist that follows teenager Dallas Edwards and his derelict friends on a quest for the meaning behind a series of mysterious, paranormal events in Southern California. The truths they uncover begin to unravel extraordinary secrets held tightly within the deepest levels of the Government.”
If that doesn't sound like the perfect Tom DeLonge movie I don't know what does!
DeLonge took to social media to post about the news and gave fans a bit of a sneak peek about what we can expect from the upcoming movie.
“PRODUCTION HAS STARTED... been a bit busy, ha. Hope you like blink-era d*** jokes, skateboarding culture, UFOs and a few sekrets thrown in. :) I actually laughed so hard yesterday, I had tears. I really think you’re all going to love this film,” he wrote.
This isn't the first time the musician has taken his love of sci-fi to your TV screen. He produced History Channel's Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation along with a short film release, Poet Anderson, which even won an award.
“I have been playing this story in my dreams for decades,” DeLonge told Deadline. “It represents all aspects of my strange existence, including growing up in San Diego suburbia as a disaffected teenage skateboarder.”
At the time of publishing, a release date has not been announced for the film.
