According to a new study from Jardine Motors, a ton of your favorite action movie heroes are actually really bad drivers. Jardine Motors analyzed key scenes from some of the biggest car scenes in Hollywood history and logged each time the characters would have gained penalty points based on their actions. By doing so, they were able to determine the top ten worst drivers on film and assign them penalty points based on their driving maneuvers. Here's what they found.

Top ten worst film drivers in Hollywood:

  1. Ben Affleck as Batman – 97 penalty points
  2. Roger Moore as James Bond – 91 penalty points
  3. Matt Damon as Jason Bourne – 80 penalty points
  4. Ansel Elgort as Baby Driver – 75 penalty points
  5. Michael Caine & team in Italian Job – 72 penalty points/ Naomi Harris as Moneypenny (James Bond) – 72 penalty points
  6. Christian Bale as Batman – 71 penalty points
  7. Vin Diesel as Dom (Fast & Furious) – 68 penalty points/ Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt (Mission: Impossible) – 68 penalty points
  8. Paul Walker as Brian O’Conner (Fast & Furious) – 66 penalty points
  9. Pierce Brosnan as James Bond – 56 penalty points
  10. Daniel Craig as James Bond – 53 penalty points

While it's most surprising that Vin Diesel landed at number seven on the list for his role as Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise, Jardine Motors discovered some other interesting results. According to their research, three driving offenses were tied as the most common seen in Hollywood films: Driving without reasonable consideration for other road users, Dangerous driving and Exceeding statutory speed limit on a public road. Even though he may not have nabbed the number one spot, Diesel did rack up the highest points figure in a single film. Broken down by actor, however, Ben Affleck picked up the most points as he would have received 97 points as Batman.

Batman and Fast and the Furious may be up there as having some of the worst drivers on screen, however, Daniel Craig's turn as James Bond would have left the spy losing his driving license four times in the space of two minutes in Skyfall. Bond would have received 59 penalty points on his driving license – almost five times the number needed to be disqualified from driving in the UK.
