The Dallas Zoo is gearing up in preparation for the 2020 holiday season.

The Dallas Zoo Lights holiday tradition will continue this year with safety precautions in place to accommodate for the global coronavirus pandemic.

This year's event will be a drive-thru event which means that guests will be able to enjoy the lights from the safety of their own vehicles.

Guest will be able to enjoy the lights on select nights between November 20th and January 3rd.

The Zoo's winter wonderland this year will feature over one million lights and displays. The path is over a mile long and will take guests through a winding path in areas of the zoo that haven't been open to the public in years.

The event was designed to let the guests see the lights after the animals have 'gone to bed' for the night. The animals will not be able to be seen during the drive-thru event.

Dallas Zoo president and CEO Gregg Hudson stated, "Despite this year being one of the most challenging we've ever faced, we felt we had to find a way to deliver on what already has become a must-see holiday tradition for so many North Texans."

Pre-sale for tickets begins on Monday, November 2nd. The remaining tickets go on sale on Thursday, November 5th.

Admission is $50 per car for zoo members and $65 per car for the general public.
