Last week, Hayley Williams released a powerful message to her LGBTQ+ fans after former Paramore member Josh Farro wrote a disgusting homophobic message on Facebook that began circulating online.
At the time, she tweeted the message, “There’s a reason there are only 3 people left in @paramore. Surprise, haters, it ain’t cause of me.”
This had many fans believing that in addition to Josh Farro being hateful toward the LGBTQ+ community, she was implying that former bassist Jeremy Davis had the same thoughts.
On Monday (November 2), Davis, who left the band in 2015, took to social media to clarify his stance after becoming aware of Williams' tweet that implied he was also homophobic.
“It has been brought to my attention that a blanket statement was made about all of the ex-band members of Paramore,” Davis wrote. “I’m devastated and shocked to have been included in that grouping as an ex-member of the band.”
Following that, he made it loud and clear that Farro's comments were only his and that he does not feel the same and completely supports the LGBTQ+ community.
“Josh Farro’s comments were made by him and him alone and in no way should anyone else’s stance on the LGBTQ+ community have been inferred,” he explained. “Anyone who knows me knows I stand for inclusivity and love only, never for hate or discrimination of any kind. I love and support this community as I always have.”

Farro's brother, Zac, who is still part of the band, also took to Twitter to assure fans he supports the LGBTQ+ community and doesn't share his brother's bigoted thoughts: “I want to say I love and support you all and have your back. And most of all, stand with you. I do not condone any actions that do not love and support your community.”
