A Florida Keys man is facing multiple charges after police said he threatened another man with a handgun. Key West police said the incident happened on Duval Street Halloween night (October 31). Toby Keaton of Coral Springs told authorities he was in his vehicle in front of 21-year-old Dustin Allen Kouns's Jeep when he heard the Keys man revving the engine.

Keaton then got out his vehicle and approached Kouns, asking him why he was doing it. Kouns began swearing at Keaton and pulled a 9mm handgun, according to the Coral Springs man. He added that Kouns was holding the gun sideways and pointed it Keaton's direction.

“I flashed a gun at him so I was protecting myself,” police said Kouns told them. He also claimed Keaton told him, "You must have a small d***."

Keaton feared for his life, according to police. Authorities also said Kouns was a student living on Ramrod Key.

Kouns faced felony charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and dealing in stolen property. He was also arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid driver’s license. The Keys man was released from the county jail Tuesday (November 3) after posting a $32,500 bond.
