On Thursday (November 5), Gorillaz released the eighth episode of their Song Machine series: "The Valley of the Pagans." The video sees the band's animated members Stuart "2-D" Pot, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs taking a joyride through the streets of Los Angeles, while Beck (who's featured on the song) joins via FaceTime.

The track is featured on Gorillaz latest album Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez, which came out late last month.

"I’ve played festivals and toured with Damon [Albarn, Gorillaz frontman] over the years but we’ve never collaborated and I’m quite pleased we finally did and that I have gotten to join the gorillaz universe," Beck wrote on Instagram to celebrate the album's release. "Thanks to Damon for calling me up and gorillaz team making another classic set of songs."

The new album includes a number of star-studded collaborations, including Elton John on "The Pink Phantom."

During a recent interview, Albarn revealed that the band was working on the second season of Song Machine and plans to incorporate an accompanying film. “Well, we are supposed to be making a film while we’re doing season two," he said. "We signed contracts, we’ve begun scripts and stuff. Making an animated film that’s kind of abstract is quite a big risk for a movie studio because they’re very expensive. If you’re telling a slightly obtuse story that only sometimes makes any sense, it’s quite difficult. That’s what we’ve discovered.”
