The holidays are quickly approaching and families are gearing up for what the festive season will look like in the middle of a pandemic. While trips to see family may be on hold, one tradition remains: holiday movies. That is why the Charlotte Motor Speedway will once again present Speedway Christmas presented by Count On Me NC.

Starting November 21 and running through January 17, visitors to the speedway can drive along a new four-mile course illuminated by more than 4 million lights, many of which are synched to Christmas music that can be played on the car's radio.

The speedway will also feature a variety of family-friendly holiday movies that visitors can watch from the comfort of their own vehicles Thursdays through Sundays. A large 16,000-square-foot HDTV will allow great views for all, and the audio will play through the cars' FM stations.

"What better way to get into the spirit of Christmas than take in a holiday classic with your family, drive-in-movie style on one of the biggest HDTVs in the world," said Greg Walter, executive vice president and general manager at Charlotte Motor Speedway. "And if that isn't enough to leave you feeling festive, we've got about 4 million more twinkling treats that are sure to leave you feeling jolly."

The schedule for holiday movies at the speedway is as follows:

  • November 21-22: Elf
  • November 26-29: Home Alone, presented by AutoBell
  • December 3-6: How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000 live-action version), presented by Food Lion
  • December 10-13: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, presented by Lidl
  • December 17-24: Frozen 2, presented by Cook Out
  • December 26-27: A Christmas Story

Tickets start at $20 per vehicle and vary by day. To purchase tickets, call 1-800-455-FANS (3267), visit the website, or buy upon entry.
