There’s always room for more Chicago-style pizza.
Argy Theodorou, Greece-born and a nearly-lifelong Chicagoan, is a pro at Chicago-style pizza. He’s has garnered experience in the industry over the last three decades, including as a restaurant owner, according to CultureMap.
Now, he’s bringing a new deep-dish hub to the Dallas-Fort Worth area: D’Ambrosio’s Pizza Pub.
It’s open at 1713 Cross Roads Dr. in Grapevine.
"We do deep-dish pizza, with everything made in-house and all fresh ingredients," Theodorou told the local lifestyle publication of his pizzas that measure at least two inches tall. "We also do thin-crust pizza. I knew there's a war between New York-style and Chicago-style on which is best, but I grew up in Chicago so I'm biased."
No matter which way you slice it, the recipes are expertly-crafted.
Customers can also order pastas, calzones, steaks and other menu items, also available for delivery.
But hungry Texans might have to hold their horses before they can dig in.
"A pan pizza, that's what they call it, because it's baked in a pan, it's so deep that it takes about a half an hour to cook," Theodorou explained to CultureMap. "We don't bake ahead of time, we bake to order, and that's going to be 30 minutes. If you come on the weekend when it gets crowded, it'll probably take 45 minutes. I think there's still a learning curve here on how long it will take."
