The Gatlinburg SkyBridge will reportedly feature an even larger Christmas display for the holiday season beginning this weekend.
The longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America will open its 'Lights Over Gatlinburg' holiday display from November 13, 2020 to January 31, 2021, FOX 17 News reports. The Great Smoky Mountains will be very festive with SkyLift, SkyDeck and SkyCenter decked out in thousands of Christmas lights and decor.
The park will also feature a 300-foot tunnel with lights and music, as well as a 30-40 foot tall Christmas tree of lights to spread holiday cheer. Owners told FOX 17 News that they plan on doubling the amount of lights used in the Christmas display throughout the Great Smoky Mountains this holiday season and the park's website says it will use more than 40,000.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park hosted its first ever 'Lights Over Gatlinburg' holiday event last year, which reportedly attracted "tens of thousands of visitors and media attention from across the country," according to its website.
'Lights Over Gatlinburg' will be open daily and accessible for parkgoers who have a SkyLift Park admission ticket. The ticket will also allow visitors to take in the views elsewhere in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and return later in the night to enjoy the lights.
