Miley Cyrus is gearing up to release her first rock album, Plastic Hearts, later this month, but that's not all she's dabbling with in the world of rock. Last month, the pop star revealed she is working on a Metallica cover album, and Rob Halford is all for it.
The Judas Priest frontman praised Cyrus during a recent interview. “She is incredible,” he exclaimed. “If you think about her life in show business from being a little kid, and how she’s kept her head on straight. … She went a big mad as a teenager, which you should do, that’s your right, she was expressing herself.”
“I can’t wait [to hear her Metallica covers album], that’s going to be great. She has an extraordinary voice. Like [Lady] Gaga, the voice is everything, and she’s a metalhead, she’s always throwing the horns up. She’s someone I’d love to meet if the stars ever aligned,” he added.
While she hasn't revealed many details about the Metallica album, Plastic Hearts will feature two rock icons — Joan Jett and Billy Idol. Cyrus also recently shared a remix of her single "Midnight Sky" that features Stevie Nicks.
Plastic Hearts is slated for a November 27 release.
