The former Memphis Fairgrounds will soon be home to entertainment for all ages as part of the Liberty Park development. Texas-based High 5 Entertainment will bring fun activities like miniature golf, bowling, laser tag, ropes courses, escape rooms, axe throwing, arcades, and more.
"When we learned about Liberty Park and the synergy of all that's there and on the way — from sports to the Children's Museum, neighboring college campuses and Liberty Bowl football games — we easily concluded that Liberty Park is the ideal spot in the community to bring the joy and excitement of High 5," said High 5 Founder Scott Emley.
Construction is set to begin early next year with plans to be open by the 2022 holiday season.
Liberty Park is a $200 million project that will also include the Memphis Sports & Events Center, a mixed-use development and commercial office space, retail, restaurants, hotels, and apartments, WREG reports. Liberty Bowl, Tiger Lane, Kroc Center, and the Children's Museum are already a part of the development.
"Building on the spirit of an iconic past, known for years as the Fairgrounds, Liberty Park is a destination that moves a historic site into its next century to, one day, bring Memphians and visitors together," Mayor Jim Strickland said in August.
