Kevin Gates laughed off threats made by a fan of fellow Baton Rouge rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again over the weekend.

Gates was on Instagram Live Saturday (December 5) night and acknowledged a comment from a fan who wrote, "Shut up, Kevin. I'll punch you in your jaw," XXL.com reports.

Gates sarcastically responded with, "Aye, please don't hurt me."

The Instagram user, who refused to show themselves on video, then posted, "YoungBoy is going to beat you up."

"Oh, God, no! I'm hanging up," Gates said, continuing sarcastically. "I'm scared. Please, no. No, God no," he added before laughing.

"B****, this me, man," Gates added, before warning the Instagram user to leave him along before he would take his girlfriend "shopping," among other things.

The Baton Rouge rappers have shared a complicated relationship, having initially been allies and collaborating on the '4 Respect' EP in 2018, among other songs. Gates also has a tattoo of YoungBoy's face on his body, telling Instagram Live shortly after getting the tattoo, "I got a tattoo on me because I love him."

"You can say what you want to, but in Louisiana when we love somebody, we appreciate them while they alive and we get their faces it’s monumental," Gates added.

However, the two have since developed a beef which reportedly began when Gates sided with another artist who YoungBoy NBA had a rift with in 2018. YoungBoy's artist, Quando Rondo, would then diss Gates during a show later that year.

Gates still insisted his relationship with YoungBoy was good, until last month, when he went on a scathing Instagram rant many believed was directed at the fellow Baton Rouge rapper.
