Shawn Mendes opened up about his future with girlfriend Camila Cabello.
In a recent radio interview, the “Wonder” singer revealed his father, Manuel Mendes, casually refers to the “Havana” songbird as his “daughter-in-law” and that even his family considers Cabello “the one.”
"My dad is never very serious about things, but he would always bug me and be like, ‘How's my daughter-in-law doing?’" Shawn explained with a smile.
"Obviously your parents don't know, but when you know you know," he added, hinting at a possible marriage in their future. "But I definitely went to them a lot about it."
The pop stars confirmed their romance in July 2019, around the time they released their sexy summer jam, “Senorita.” Since then, the Canadian crooner hasn’t been shy about laying on the PDA — from adorable kissing videos to sharing sweet tributes — and has also bonded with Cabello’s family in quarantine amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Shawn, who recently released his fourth studio album, Wonder, this past Friday, seemingly hinted at potentially tying the knot with Cabello on his song “24 Hours.” On the record, he sings, “All it'd take is 24 hours/ We could dance, you could throw the flowers/ It's a little soon/ But I wanna come home to you.”
Last month, the 22-year-old made the sweet revelation that “every song” he’s written was about his girlfriend, who happened to be a big inspiration for his smash hit “Treat You Better.”
“We were in New York and my song comes on the radio or something, and the fact comes up that it’s about her, and I’m like, ‘Yeah, it’s about you.’ And I’m like, ‘Everything is about you. They’ve always been about you,’” Shawn recalled in his In Wonder documentary. “She goes, ‘What do you mean?’ I’m like, ‘They’re all about you. Like, every song I’ve ever wrote.’”
