The world's tiniest Target store in Marathon, Texas, no longer stands.

It was torn down by the property owner recently, CBS 7 reported. The Brewster County sheriff said the structure was becoming unstable so the property owner took it down before someone got hurt.

The tiny Target wasn't a store but a former railroad structure with the Target's name and bullseye logo that appeared in 2016. It's about 15 miles west of Marathon along US-90 in West Texas. It was so small that you probably wouldn't see it if you didn't know it was there.

It was in the middle of no where, but the non-operational store was a popular place to stop and take pictures. It was also targeted by vandals with spray paint from time to time.

It didn't really have a purpose aside from being appreciated.

"The raison d’être of the Target Marathon remains unclear. It was perhaps inspired by the Prada Marfa, an art project in the West Texas desert. Unlike the Prada Marfa, however, no one has ever claimed to have created the Target Marathon. Both “stores” are non-operational, although the Prada Marfa does at least contain some Prada merchandise," according to Atlas Obscura.
