Taylor Swift and the Haim sisters (Este, Danielle, and Alana) have been longtime friends, and now they're collaborators, too. The soul rock trio is featured on "No Body, No Crime" — a romping country murder mystery on Swift's new surprise-album Evermore — and according to the pop star, the story of how the song came to be is "hilarious" despite its dark subject matter.
"Working with the Haim sisters on 'No Body, No Crime' was pretty hilarious because it came about after I wrote a pretty dark murder mystery song and had named the character Este, because she’s the friend I have who would be stoked to be in a song like that," Swift explained to Entertainment Weekly. "I had finished the song and was nailing down some lyric details and texted her, 'You’re not going to understand this text for a few days but... which chain restaurant do you like best?' and I named a few."
"She chose Olive Garden and a few days later I sent her the song and asked if they would sing on it," Swift continued. "It was an immediate 'YES.'" (The Italian chain is name-dropped in the lyrics — "Este wasn't there/ Tuesday night at Olive Garden" — and HAIM celebrated Hanukkah and the album's release with a feast from the restaurant.)
Though they've been friends for years, and were even tourmates during the 1989 era, this is the first time Swift and HAIM have worked on a song together. "We can’t figure out why we hadn’t collaborated sooner. We’ve toured together, played live together, choreographed dances like we’re at summer camp, but it took a song about avenging your friend’s murder to give us the idea to take this step," Swift confessed. "Long story short, I’m the 4th Haim sister now, confirmed."

The four Haim sisters will be competing for Album of the Year at the 2021 Grammys: HAIM's excellent third album Women in Music Pt. III, and Swift's cottagecore masterpiece Folklore are both nominated for the coveted award.
