These N.C. Cities Are Considered Among The Most Caring In The U.S.

Five North Carolina cities are considered among the most caring city in the United States, according to a recent study.

WalletHub.com listed Raleigh at No. 22, Charlotte at No. 40, Durham at No. 48, Greensboro at No.82 and Wilson-Salem at No. 87 on its list of the "Most Caring Cities in the U.S." released on Monday (December 14.) Raleigh received a total score of 59.72, Charlotte scored 56.19, Durham scored 55.29, Greensboro scored 47.74 and Winston-Salen scored 47.16.

WalletHub said it compared the 100 largest cities in the United States "across 39 key indicators of a compassionate spirit." Cities were scored based on "caring for the community," "caring for the vulnerable" and "caring for the work force."

Raleigh ranked 75th in "caring for the community," 91st in "caring for the vulnerable" and sixth in "caring for the workforce." Charlotte ranked 36th in "caring for the community," 56th for "caring for the vulnerable" and 42nd in "caring for the workforce."

Durham ranked seventh in "caring for the community," 49th in "caring for the vulnerable" and 45th in "caring for the workforce." Greensboro ranked 88th in "caring for the community," 81st for "caring for the vulnerable" and 57th in "caring for the workforce."

Winston-Salem ranked 73rd in "caring for the community," 97th in "caring for the vulnerable" and 58th in "caring for the workforce."

WalletHub reports more Americans have felt the need to care more in 2020 amid the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic, high unemployment, the fallout of the presidential election and several other factors.
