This NC City Is No. 1, 5 Made List For Best Cities For Christmas In 2020

Durham has been named as the best places for Christmas in 2020.

WalletHub.com ranked Durham No. 1 overall among the 100 "best places for Christmas" in a list published on Tuesday (December 15.) Four other North Carolina cities -- Raleigh (No. 5,) Charlotte (No. 28,) Greensboro (No. 36,) and Winston-Salem (No. 54) -- were also included on the list.

The website said it determined which cities offer the most Christmas cheer amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic by comparing several key indicators of a safe and affordable holiday season, which includes the availability of Christmas traditions and the city's overall generosity.

Durham received a total score of 68.16 and ranked 17th in "safery," fifth in "traditions & food," 51st in "observance" and fifth in "generosity." Raleigh received a total score of 67.00 and ranked 16th in "safery," 11th in "traditions & food," 40th in "observance" and seventh in "generosity."

Charlotte received a total score of 58.31 and ranked 26th in "safery," 51st in "traditions & food," 31st in "observance" and 29th in "generosity." Greensboro received a total score of 56.29 and ranked 23rd in "safery," 68th in "traditions & food," 42nd in "observance" and 97th in "generosity."

Winston-Salem received a total score of 52.08 and ranked 24th in "safery," 82nd in "traditions & food," 64th in "observance" and 94th in "generosity."
