Christmas is almost here and residents around Charlotte are decking the halls, decorating their homes in a variety of lights and holiday displays. One local man is taking his decor a step farther and creating a magical Christmas adventure that kids can enjoy.
While some decorations are meant to be viewed as you drive by, Boyd Chapman's home has so much more that requires you to stop and take a few minutes to explore the winter wonderland he created near the McAlpine Creek Greenway.
"It just makes you feel good when you are able to see the families having a good time," said Chapman.
People of all ages can have fun with snowman bowling and candy cane toss, and kids will love the chance to send off their letters to Santa and write down wishes for next year at the "wishing tree." A "selfie sleigh" allows for everyone, even pets, to take a photo to remember a bright spot of holiday cheer.
"It's great to see all the families out here," he said. "It's just an opportunity for families to really spend some time together and get out of the house in a way they haven't been able to."
