Glee alum Heather Morris is walking back her tweets about the late Mark Salling.

The actress, 33, issued a public apology to her fellow Gleeks for making “insensitive” remarks involving her former costar, whose memory she attempted to defend in response to a Twitter user’s “offensive” tweet.

“To all those who felt triggered by my message, I want to sincerely apologize for the harm I caused,” Morris tweeted Monday night (December 21). “Whether you, a friend, a family member has been a victim of pedophilia, I realize my words may have been insensitive to your experience and for that I can’t express enough how sorry I am.”

Salling, who died by suicide in 2018 just months after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography, became the subject of controversy earlier this month when a Twitter user shared an image of the departed actor’s face covered with a vomiting emoji.

Morris initially denounced the photo and doubled down on her sentiments.

“We did not loose [sic] just 2 cast members, we lost 3. And it is SO incredible tough to have to act like that 3rd one is invisible, because even though his actions are unjustifiable, he was a part of our family at one point and he was mentally SICK,” she wrote in since-deleted tweets before acknowledging [pedophilia] is a sickness.”

Morris drew swift backlash from fans accusing the dancer of having more concern for Salling that the allegations that were against him before his tragic passing.

As Gleeks know, in addition to Salling, the Glee family has also lost former castmates Cory Monteith, who died in 2013, and Naya Rivera, who passed away this summer.
