Katy Perry Says She Pretended To Be Zooey Deschanel To Get Into Clubs

For years now fans of both Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel have wondered over how much the pair look alike. Katy and Zooey finally addressed the comparisons in Katy's new music video for 'Not The End of the World.' In the video, aliens mistake Zooey for Katy and end up abducting the New Girl actress instead of the pop star. The hilarious video even sees Zooey performing as Katy, which is truly a sight to see.

Following the video's release, Katy and Zooey hopped on Instagram Live to talk about their collaboration. While chatting about their physical similarities, Katy, who is four years younger than Zooey, revealed she used to pretend to be the Elf actress in order to get into clubs. "In that moment, I was so complimented to look like you," Katy began. "But I have to admit something to you. When I first got to L.A., I went to the club. A lot. And I wanted to get into the club, but I had no money, I had no clout, I had nothing, and sometimes I would pose as you to get into the club."

Zooey, who had already started to establish herself as an actress, said she was more of a homebody. Despite not being out at the clubs like Katy, Zooey shocked her lookalike when she revealed she was wise to her antics back in the day. "Well, I know this. People were like 'I saw you!' But I'm such a goody two-shoes, and people kept going like, 'I saw you out! I made eye contact with you!'" Zooey said. "Then everybody kept telling me about you, 'This girl Katy, she looks just like you,' and I'm like, 'Who is this Katy?' And then when I first met you, I was so relieved because you're so pretty, and I was like, 'Oh, thank God. She's so pretty.'"

Katy apologized for "misrepresenting" Zooey at the time. Luckily, It seems there are no hard feelings between these two.
