Miley Cyrus rang in the new year with one of her most iconic hits.

During last night’s (December 31) performance at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2021, the pop star revisited one of her fan-favorite throwback tracks when she hit the stage to perform “Party in the U.S.A.” Cyrus welcomed the new year with a patriotic rendition of the 2009 chart-topping hit while wearing an American flag-themed outfit as confetti stars and ribbons came streaming down.

“Was my honor to perform PARTY IN THE USA opening tonight’s @NYRE after the year we’ve experienced,” Cyrus tweeted following her performance. “This song represents TRIUMPH (check the belt) 🇺🇸🎉🎸looking forward to 2021 wishing everyone a happy and safe NY celebration! 2 more songs to come!”

The “Midnight Sky” musician was just one of several musical guests to perform at the annual year-end celebration, which aired performances in Los Angeles, New York, and New Orleans. In addition to headliner Jennifer Lopez, Megan Thee Stallion, Maluma, Brandy, Lewis Capaldi, Cyndi Lauper, and Machine Gun Kelly also delivered sets to ring in 2021.

In November 2020, Cyrus released her seventh studio album, a rock-inspired record titled Plastic Hearts. The album, which contains songs featuring heavyweight rockers like Joan Jett and Billy Idol, became a huge success, having debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Rock Albums chart in its first week.

"It’s official. #PlasticHearts is the #1 rock record in the country," the Hannah Montana alum tweeted at the time. "My mind is blown and my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank YOU to every creative collaborator involved on this project! If one person was missing I would not be writing this message."
