Nicki Minaj Reveals Her Would-Be Name For Newborn Son

Nicki Minaj kicked off 2021 by giving Barbz a glimpse into her life as a mother. Not only did she unveil the first photo of her newborn son with husband Kenneth Petty, but the hip-hop titan also revealed that Ariana Grande gifted her with some sweet presents in honor of her son’s birth.

On Saturday (January 2), Minaj, 38, shared another nugget about her baby boy, admitting that she almost named her 3-month-old son Ninja."You know what his name was supposed to be? I think l might still change it," she confessed to fans, per Entertainment Tonight. "A lot of people said they liked it, but I said, 'Nah.' His name was going to be Ninja."

"I changed it at the last minute," she continued, before liking a number of tweets from fans who told her they liked the name. Elsewhere in her chat, Minaj admitted that her new album is far from finished, but she is grateful to have the time off to focus on the material and her transition into motherhood.

As you know, Minaj announced that she was expecting her first child in July 2020, before giving birth on September 30 in Los Angeles. She and Petty tied the knot about a year earlier in October 2019.
