If You Filed Taxes With H&R Block, Your Stimulus Check Might Be Delayed

If you filed your taxes using H&R Block, there might be a delay in when your stimulus check is deposited into your bank account. On Monday (January 4), many customers were expecting to receive a $600 direct deposit from the federal government. When the money wasn't there, they checked the IRS's Get My Payment website and were confused to see a random bank account number listed.

H&R Block explained that the account number reflects the one used for customers who chose a refund transfer when they filed their taxes in 2019.

"The IRS Get My Payment website may display an account number you don't recognize. If you took a Refund Transfer, it may be reflecting that account number. Check your 2019 return to confirm," the company tweeted.

The tax preparer said that customers shouldn't worry and that they will receive the money.

"But don't worry – we have sent these payments on to the method you chose for Refund Transfer: direct deposit, check, or Emerald Card. The money should be there by the end of the day."

While many people reported receiving their money on Tuesday, some customers were still waiting for the funds to be deposited into their bank account.
