As other major retailers announce that they're closing their doors, Lowe's is expanding in DFW. The home improvement chain said this week that it's planning to open an outlet store in Irving.
Lowe's Outlet will be the first of its kind in Texas. The store will sell new, but slightly dented or damaged, items at a discount, Dallas Cultermap reported. This is good news for anyone looking to spruce up their home on a budget.
"Customers purchasing appliances will enjoy a full manufacturer’s warranty at discounted prices up to 70 percent," a store spokesperson said in a statement.
The outlet store will also sell discounted appliances and appliance accessories, like dryer vents and fridge filters.
The details are still in the works, but the store will be at 3500 W Airport Fwy. A regular Lowe's was previously located at that address, but it closed in 2019.
The outlet is expected to open sometime in 2021, but no specific date has been given.
The home improvement industry has been booming during the pandemic since people are stuck at home. More than 75% of homeowners said that they started at least one major home improvement project since the start of the pandemic, according to data from Porch.com.
