Study: Arizona Is One Of The Top States For Vehicle Thefts

A five year study by Car Insurance Comparison shows that Arizona is one of the top 15 states with the most vehicle thefts.
The study shows that 3,683,769 vehicles were stolen in the United States between 2014 and 2018. Arizona alone accounted for 90,990 of the thefts and came in at number 14 on the list. Arizona averaged 316 stolen vehicles per 100,000 registered vehicles during this time frame.
Arizona has acknowledged the high rates of vehicle theft and in. 1997 set up the Vehicle Theft Task Force to combat motor vehicle robbery.
Here are the top 15 worst states for vehicle theft according to Car Insurance Comparison:

- Nevada
- Washington
- Hawaii
- Alaska
- Utah
- Colorado
- Oregon
- Oklahoma
- Missouri
- South Carolina
- Arizona
- Georgia
To determine the list, Car Insurance Comparison used two primary sources of data: the National Insurance Crime Bureau's number of thefts per state and the Federal Highway Administration's number of registered vehicles per state.
