The Macy's Inside of the Paradise Valley Mall is set to close its doors for good.

Macy's announced last year that it is closing dozens of stores across the United states as a part of the company's strategy to close about 20% of its stores by 2023.

The chain announced 45 more closures for the chain in 2021, including one here in the Valley.

The store told AZ Family, "The decision to close a store is always a difficult one, but Macy’s Paradise Valley is honored to have served our customers and the community over the past 40 years, and we look forward to continuing to do so at Macy’s Arrowhead Towne Center, Macy’s Biltmore Fashion Park and Macy’s Scottsdale Fashion Square locations and online at macys.com or on the Macy’s app."

The store mentioned that a large clearance sale will begin in January for about eight to twelve weeks.

The store, which is one of three anchor department stores for the Paradise Valley Mall, opened in the late 1970's.

Macy's currently has about 540 stores still open around the United States.
