If you were looking forward to catching The 1975's rescheduled tour dates, the band announced on Tuesday (January 12) that all dates would be canceled this year (hey, at least we'll get a nice bit of money back right?!).
“We are really sorry to announce that we have made the decision to cancel all scheduled touring for 2021,” the guys wrote in a statement shared to social media.
The 1975 was planning on playing its rescheduled dates this year after the coronavirus pandemic swept the world and last year's gigs had to be postponed.
“These are incredibly difficult times for a lot of people, and until we can be sure that we will be able to play shows in a way that is safe for our fans and crew, we have decided the best course of action is to cancel our touring so that, where possible, everyone can get their tickets refunded sooner rather than later,” the statement continued.
While this is some pretty sad news, the guys did sandwich some good news in between the bad stuff: they're working on a new album.
“We’re currently making a new album and look forward to seeing you all at a show as soon as it is safe to do so,” they wrote.
Just yesterday (January 11), in his Instagram comments, Matty Healy teased collaborations with Beabadobee and Charli XCX after captioning a set of photos: “Very excited about new music in the coming months with some brilliant artists.” He also posted a couple of photos from the studio.
